Shaw, Ibsen, Chekhov

Class Overview

Shaw, Ibsen, Chekhov is an in depth scene study class focusing on the origins of realistic acting. Influenced by the wave following Stanislavsky’s experiments, this class examines Shaw in England, Ibsen in Scandinavia, and Chekhov in Stanislavsky’s Russia which ushers in the dominant acting style of the 20th Century. Each student explores the playwrights through lectures and scene work.

Dialects is recommended to pair with Shaw, Ibsen, Chekhov.

A $100 registration fee will hold your place for any class on the schedule.

Students pairing an acting class with a voice & body class in the same semester receive a $125 discount.
