Drug, Weapon, & Fragrance Policies

Drug-Free Policy

Studio Acting Conservatory is a drug-free zone. The use or presence of drugs on the premises will not be tolerated and will be subject to disciplinary action.

Alcohol and tobacco  may not be used as a prop in class at any time.  Students must use non-alcoholic substances to simulate alcohol in any scene that requires the use of alcohol. Imitation cigarettes may be used in classes where they do not pose a risk to any student present.

For questions about safe drug or alcohol substitutes, students should speak with their teacher.

Weapons Policy

Prop weapons should be used whenever possible; real blades should be blunted or taped. Weapons/prop weapons capable of firing should be kept unloaded. Any realistic looking weapon or prop weapon should be kept secure in the office, in a locked container, or kept with the student who owns it.

For questions about safe weapons use and storage, students should speak with their teacher.

Fragrance-Free Policy

Studio Acting Conservatory has a fragrance-free policy in place for students, faculty, and staff to protect those with asthma or allergies, as well as shared set and costume pieces. We understand that some hair and skincare products may have a light scent that cannot be avoided, but we ask that you avoid wearing or bringing perfumes/colognes/body sprays, or scented oils or lotions.
