Health & Covid Safety
Health & Covid Safety Policy
We request that staff, faculty, and students remain at home or go home if they are feeling unwell or are showing symptoms of any respiratory illness, including COVID-19, RSV, influenza, and others. Students: In the event of any illness, please contact your class captain and teacher.
Regarding COVID and other respiratory illnesses, we will follow the DC Health protocol, which is as follows:
If you test positive: stay home and away from others. Let your teacher and class captain know so they can inform your class. If you are in a Directing scene, please let the Director know.
Returning to normal activities: You may resume normal activities when your symptoms have been improving overall for at least 24 hours, and you have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Post-Isolation precautions: For the 5 days after you resume normal activities, take extra precautions—such as wearing a well-fitting mask, practicing good hand hygiene, keeping distance from others, and improving indoor airflow.
We recommend testing if you have been exposed or are having symptoms. Disposable masks are available in the office and we will happily give them out – please stop by the admin office or ask your teacher to fetch a mask for you. We also have a thermometer if you want to take your temperature.
For all respiratory illnesses, we ask that you monitor symptoms, self-isolate if symptoms appear, and stay home until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours and symptoms have improved. While proof of vaccination is no longer required, it is strongly recommended that you be up to date on COVID-19 vaccinations, flu, and others.
This policy may be updated as circumstances and guidelines change.
Any questions or concerns about compliance should be directed to the Executive Director, Emily Morrison, at emily@studioactingconservatory.org.
Thank you for helping to keep our community safe!
