Clown / Commedia Workshop

Class Overview

This two day workshop will dive into both the spirit of Clown in general, and how exploring the archetypes of Commedia dell’Arte through a modern lens can help free your inhibitions and unlock comedic chaos.

On Day One, students will play generative clown games, an introduction to neutral mask, and explore and reclaim the classic physical archetypes of Commedia dell’Arte. On Day Two, students will explore improvisation through clown, and delve into partner play through scenario work, and finding le jeu (the game) through simplicity and transparency.
