Program Offerings

Young Actors Ensemble Classes

Weekly classes include theatre games, pantomimes, improvisations, and ensemble work. Students prepare monologues and scenes from contemporary and classical literature. The program culminates in a public showing of their work.

Summer Intensive Sessions

Classes meet daily for three weeks. Students will spend their mornings training in Voice, Movement, and Musical Theatre. Using the tools taught in these classes, the Young Actors will work together to create original ensemble pieces. Afternoons are spent cultivating their acting skills with one of our most experienced faculty members.

Shakespeare for Young Actors

Weekly classes include pantomimes, improvisations, and ensemble work. Students work on Shakespearean monologues and scenes. The program finishes with a presentation of students’ work.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

We offer full scholarships!

One-half of the class places are offered with full scholarship to students with demonstrated need. Through the Youth On-Stage program, we reserve spots in all Young Actors Ensemble classes for scholarships to students who have an interest in the performing arts but lack the financial resources.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do students have to audition into the program?

There is a placement audition students are required to attend, but it is for placement in class only. At this time any student can register to participate in the program.

Do students put on a play at the end?

No – instead, we have final scenes. While students don’t put on a full play, friends and family will be invited to a presentation of their work at the end of the semester.

How many classes can students miss?

Attendance is incredibly important to the program, and there are no make-up options for students who miss class. We advise students and their families to plan around the 10am-1pm time commitment, and to limit absences to 3 or fewer.

Do you accept student under 12 years old?

No. Our program is not designed for younger students.
