Public Viewings of The Last Supper Sculpture

The Conservatory was pleased to offer public viewings of The Last Supper sculpture, by Akili Ron Anderson, for Holy Week in April and again for Juneteenth. Articles about the artwork and viewings were featured in The Washington Post and Washingtonian, among other publications.

The sculpture, which was rediscovered during the renovation of the building, depicts Jesus and his disciples as African American men, taking inspiration from members of the community. Keep an eye out for future programming around this powerful piece of art and local history.
